About the Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Transplant Surgery to join our renowned team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in renal and pancreas transplantation, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the further development of our unit.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work in a friendly and growing kidney transplant unit, surrounded by a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide exceptional surgical care to patients undergoing renal and pancreas transplantation, vascular access surgery, and other related procedures.
  • To contribute to the education and training of junior medical staff, promoting excellence in surgical skills and knowledge.
  • To participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Requirements

  • Fully registered with the GMC and on the specialist register for General Surgery or within six months of receiving a CCT.
  • MBChB or equivalent, FRCS or equivalent, and completion of higher specialist training in surgery.
  • Broad experience of renal transplant surgery, access surgery, and renal and pancreatic retrieval.

Estimated Salary Range: £130,000 - £160,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
