About the Role

NRL is seeking an Environmental and Sustainability Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for providing environmental management guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement environmental management plans and strategies.
  2. Provide technical expertise on regulatory compliance, sustainability, and environmental matters to ensure our projects meet the highest standards.
  3. Work closely with the Environmental Manager and Sustainability Lead to identify and develop opportunities to enhance our projects' sustainability and environmental performance.
  4. Contribute to environmental assurance reviews and deliver environmental audits to ensure our projects meet regulatory requirements.
  5. Support the development and delivery of land quality assessments to inform our project planning and decision-making.
  6. Assist in developing and delivering a program to enhance environmental awareness and culture within our project team.

Requirements

  1. Strong knowledge of environmental management principles, including land quality assessment, sustainability, and environmental permitting.
  2. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a project team to achieve shared goals.
  3. Familiarity with the Environmental Permitting Regulations and experience working on high-hazard related projects and plants is highly desirable.
