About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our nursing team on Heligan or Harold White Ward at St Austell Community Hospital.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing general social interaction with patients, including talking, observing, and escalating concerns
  • Supporting patients with meals, including preparation and service
  • Assisting patients with personal care
  • Supporting the wider team with domestic and housekeeping duties
  • Meeting and greeting patients and visitors
  • Putting away stock and supplies
  • Carrying out and supporting with other duties as required
  • Reporting any concerns or issues to the manager in charge
  • Making and receiving telephone calls
