Role Overview

This exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to lead the management of dysphagia and head and neck cancer across North Highland. As a highly specialist clinician, you will join a dynamic team of 12 SLTs based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, serving the North Highland Area.

About the Role
  • Lead on and provide a highly specialist dysphagia service to acute wards, including Critical Care and Head and Neck Cancer Outpatient services.
  • Work closely with the SLT team to deliver high-quality care and support patients with swallowing disorders.
  • Utilize instrumental swallowing assessments – FEES and Videofluoroscopy – to inform clinical decision-making.
Requirements

Essential qualifications include a BSc in Speech Pathology and Therapeutics or equivalent, along with postgraduate qualifications in management of swallowing disorders. A strong commitment to professional development, supervision, and quality improvement is also required.

The successful candidate will be expected to work pro-rata hours, with potential flexibility to accommodate the new reduced working week. However, some temporary adjustments may be necessary until rosters or working patterns adapt.
