Job Title: Payroll Senior

Location: Bury St Edmunds

About the Role:

We are seeking a senior payroll professional with experience processing end-to-end payroll, across multiple sites, or within a client or bureau setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle complete payroll processing for a range of clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage BACs payment processing efficiently to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Maintain direct contact with clients, offering clear communication and support for payroll-related inquiries.
  • Resolve payroll queries promptly and effectively, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Work accurately, diligently, and methodically with excellent attention to detail.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
  • Demonstrate strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Possess a high level of understanding and practical application of all areas of end-to-end payroll, including auto-enrolment pensions, statutory payments, holiday pay legislation, minimum wage legislation, HMRC and RTI legislation, directors' payments, and basic HR/employment law awareness.
  • Exhibit clear and effective communication skills, both written (letters and emails) and oral, to interact with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
  • Approach problem-solving positively, remaining flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and exercise sound judgment in bringing situations to the manager's attention.
