Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of cutting-edge projects, leading the design and development of mechanical services (HVAC building services engineering) systems on varied schemes within the Southwest.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, ideally in a senior or lead capacity, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results within deadlines. They will be responsible for leading the mechanical design process, from concept through to detailed design and implementation, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical services and systems.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering, building services engineering or a related field, and will be familiar with relevant industry standards and regulations. They will also have excellent communication and team-working skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the mechanical design process, from concept through to detailed design and implementation.
  2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical services and systems.
  3. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and project requirements.
  4. Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand project goals and deliver solutions.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in mechanical design (HVAC / building services engineering services), ideally in a senior or lead capacity.
  2. Strong knowledge of building services engineering systems, components, and design software.
  3. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  4. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
  5. Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  6. Degree in mechanical engineering, building services engineering or a related field.
  7. Ideally, MCIBSE or similar.
