Job Title: Commercial Cost Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our commercial team at Caralex Recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing and controlling budgets, maintaining a build cost database, and producing cost plans for new build residential projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with the land team on land appraisals for potential sites and the sales team on specification and pricing. They will have experience working in a housebuilding development company, estimating or quantity surveying role, or an affiliated industry such as a groundworks or bricklaying subcontractor, cost consultancy / PQS firm, or social housing contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and controlling budgets for new build residential projects
  • Maintaining a build cost database
  • Producing cost plans for new build residential projects
  • Working closely with the land team on land appraisals
  • Collaborating with the sales team on specification and pricing

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a housebuilding development company, estimating or quantity surveying role, or an affiliated industry
  • Strong background in estimating and quantity surveying
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
