About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our LeDeR and Tackling Health Inequalities programme. As a Senior Specialist in Learning Disability and Health Inequalities, you will be responsible for driving service improvement and reducing health inequalities for people with a learning disability, autism, or both.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of learning into practice across the ICS, reducing health inequalities with a specific focus on working with Public Health programmes.
  • Work with the Local Area Contact (LAC), LeDeR and Tackling Health Inequalities Specialist to develop and implement strategies to address health inequalities.
  • Collaborate with health and social care providers to drive service improvement and reduce health inequalities.
  • Provide Quality Assurance for the LeDeR programme within the ICB.
  • Contribute to and lead work focused on implementing practice changes identified from LeDeR related learning.

Requirements
  • Master's level education or equivalent level of experience in a specialist area.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through a postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience or training.
  • Ability to oversee and be responsible for a budget for a department and/or service.
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
  • Experience of developing briefing papers and correspondence at SLT or chief officer level.
  • Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes.
  • Member of a relevant professional body (RNLD, RN, RNcyp, RNMH, or Allied Health Professional).
