We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Planner to join our team at Aldwych Consulting in Hampshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering civil engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and within budget.

Job Description

The role involves effective portfolio planning and programming of civil engineering schemes using Microsoft Projects. As the project planner, you will report to the Planning Manager and sit in meetings with the board of the project, ensuring that all planning procedures are implemented in accordance with programme strategy and client governance.

  • Plan projects and ensure they are programmed to a level of detail necessary for the site team to deliver the scheme without delays
  • Ensure the review of progress, forward planning, and lookahead programmes are carried out
  • Identify risks
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans using Microsoft Projects, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and timelines
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between project teams, stakeholders, and external partners to assist with project planning and execution
  • Provide expert planning support and guidance on NEC contract requirements
  • Attend site visits and stakeholder meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications: A degree or certificate in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, a UK driving license, experience in the use of Microsoft Project, knowledge of NEC form of contracts, experience of Primavera P6 desirable but not essential, expert knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programs, experience of Earned Value Management desirable but not essential, and experience of working on civil engineering projects.
