Dementia Care Specialist

HC-One Scotland is developing a Specialist Dementia Care Community (SDCC) at Darnley Court care home, a therapeutic care setting that demonstrates the importance of quality of care and quality of life. The Dementia Nurse Practitioner will support, deliver, and coordinate person-centred dementia care and therapeutic interventions in a purpose-designed residential setting to improve clinical outcomes for those living with complex dementia presentations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' practice experience in a dementia care community and be able to demonstrate evidence of delivering person-centred care and care for people with dementia who present with complex needs, distress, and behaviours that challenge. They will also have experience of providing general nursing and bio-psychosocial interventions, knowledge of relevant current dementia policies and guidance, and a commitment to quality of care.

  • Evidence of delivering person-centred care and care for people with dementia who present with complex needs, distress, and behaviours that challenge.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Experience of providing general nursing and bio-psychosocial interventions.
  • Knowledge of relevant current dementia policies and guidance.
  • Post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia.
  • Experience of completing holistic nursing assessments.
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality of care.
