Ramboll is a global architecture, engineering, and consultancy company. As a foundation-owned people company, founded in Denmark, we believe that the purpose of sustainable change is to create a thriving world for both nature and people. So, that's where we start – and how we work.

We are seeking a Graduate Vertical Transportation Engineer who will be involved in the design and delivery of Vertical Transportation and People Movement strategies, from competition stage to practical completion post-installation. These will involve:

  • People flow simulations in buildings using ElevateTM.
  • The study and understanding of human behaviour, both in normal circumstances and during a building emergency;
  • Coordination with major lift and escalator suppliers to understand their products and bespoke solutions;
  • Collaboration with stakeholders regarding accessibility, fire evacuation and goods movements;
  • Dimensional planning of the main building cores.
  • Technical drawings review.
  • Site activities supported by expert professionals, involving installation monitoring and condition surveys.

You will become a part of the Buildings department, which includes Building Services, Structures, Civil, Facades, Acoustics and many more specialist teams. Your role will allow you to collaborate with all disciplines, providing growth and knowledge to enhance your engineering competence.

Our company offers a unique work environment, built on openness, understanding, and respect, allowing you to shape your role to match your working style, aspirations, and personal life. We strive to deliver excellent cross-functional solutions in a professional and well-coordinated manner to our clients.

We offer an estimated annual salary of £35,000 - £45,000, depending on location and experience. In addition to this, you will enjoy benefits such as hybrid & flexible working, 27 days holiday per year + 8 days bank holiday, professional subscription + support on becoming chartered, matched pension scheme, private medical insurance, and a great list of flexible benefits you can choose from including discounted taste card subscription, cycle to work scheme, gym flex and many more.

In order to succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A BEng, MEng or MSc level degree in a relevant engineering subject.
  • An active curiosity around vertical transportation solutions.
  • Interest in human behaviour in buildings, accessibility and evacuation of users in the event of an emergency.
  • Demonstrable aptitude to learn computer simulation programmes.
  • Ability to summarise and present complex engineering concepts via different channels, as well as to communicate appropriately with stakeholders.
  • An interest in Digital Automation and Optimisation

If you're passionate about creating a better future for everyone, then join us and take the first step towards a fulfilling career as a Graduate Vertical Transportation Engineer at Ramboll.
