Job Title: Multi Skilled Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi Skilled Technician to join our Engineering department in Southampton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, reliable service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance work on engineering assets to ensure optimum serviceability and meet customer service levels.
  • Carry out tasks that require in-depth technical competence in Building Service Engineering, or work in other disciplines where you have the necessary skills.
  • Receive and close down work orders, and enter accurate data using our maintenance system.
  • Ensure that all engineering and operating records are updated to meet business, regulatory, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others, and contribute to the development of a safety culture.
  • Maintain stock levels and arrange the return of repairable items to the relevant service centre or manufacturer.
  • Comply with Health and Safety, Security, and Environment/Sustainable Development Policies, and ensure working practices minimize risk to self, colleagues, customers, staff, and the environment.
Requirements:
  • Apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, including City & Guilds or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of Electro-Mechanical or Building Service Engineering.
  • Proven experience in Engineering practices.
  • City and Guilds in 18th Edition IEE Regulations (or 17th Edition with further training to 18th Edition).
  • A full clean driving licence.
  • A good knowledge of computers and electronic principles.
Competencies:
  • Competent in the repair of Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL).
  • Knowledge and operations of baggage systems.
  • Experience and competency in working with drainage systems on pavements, including Environmental awareness.
  • Competency in managing the entry to confined spaces.
  • Competency in operating and maintaining low and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience and competency in managing domestic hot water, heating, and ventilation systems.

Salary: £20.04 per hour, including £17.78 base rate plus £2.26 per hour shift pay.

Hours: 40 hours per week on a shift pattern basis.
