About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) as a key member of our team. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for the development and commissioning of CAMH services, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for the delivery of high-quality CAMH services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across various disciplines to ensure seamless care pathways for children and adolescents.
  • Provide expert clinical leadership and mentorship to junior staff members.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will possess specialist registration with the GMC as a specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or be eligible for CCT within six months of the interview date. A teaching qualification or higher qualification in medical education is desirable but not essential. You must have passed an exit exam or hold a statement of eligibility for registration issued by PMETB or a primary medical qualification recognized by a European Member State.

The ideal candidate will have evidence of teaching and training of post/undergraduate clinical staff, research experience in areas specific to CAMHS, and specific interests/experience within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. You will be able to work effectively under pressure, cope with setbacks, and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
