Job Description:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Integrated Sensing and Protection line of business in Basildon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the smooth transition of new products from design into manufacture, leading front-end manufacturing engineering activities, and ensuring timely, efficient, cost-effective, and accurate product introduction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, researching and designing methods and equipment, and understanding feedback from operators.
  • Participate in Manufacturing Maturity Reviews, maintain governance through Lifecycle Management, and create Manufacturing Plans.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information, reviewing production schedules, labour and material costs, and estimating future requirements.
  • Resolve routine and complex product and/or production issues, improving manufacturing efficiency, and creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation.
  • Support Material & Failure Review Boards and failure investigations, maintaining manufacturing data, and participating in continuous improvement activities.
Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles.
  • Ability to articulate and explain technical understanding, good problem-solving skills, and data analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated achievement and delivery of own work packages, experience in having own work peer reviewed, and implementing resulting actions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of more than one phase of the Product Life Cycle and associated discipline processes.
