Operations Director

This is a pivotal role in the transformation of manufacturing operations. As an experienced Operations Director, you will lead the setup and operational success of a state-of-the-art non-ferrous foundry and CNC machining facility. The company is part of a larger engineering group, renowned for its innovation, sustainability, and technical advancement in the UK's manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assume full operational responsibility across all production departments, ensuring a safe, organised, and efficient workplace.
• Embed a strong EHS culture and deliver the site's operating and production plans to meet customer demands and agreed targets.
• Implement performance metrics and KPIs to monitor and improve operational efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement activities using lean principles and techniques.
• Lead the digital transformation of the shopfloor, integrating IT systems with production equipment for real-time performance monitoring.
• Develop the operations team through effective management, mentoring, and training.

Requirements:

A higher level qualification in production management/engineering or a related technical discipline. Considerable experience in a hi-tech manufacturing environment, with demonstrable significant senior management experience. A proven record of driving operational improvement through lean/TPS principles. Experience in implementing or working in a fully digital shopfloor with automated data capture. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent management and communication abilities.
