We are seeking a reliable and organized individual to join our team as an Evening Healthcare Science Assistant. This part-time role offers the chance to work in a busy and dynamic environment, providing essential services to patients in North Lancashire and South Cumbria.

About the Position

This role is ideal for someone with previous laboratory experience who can work under pressure to extremely high standards. Based in the Biochemistry section, you will be joining a busy team that provides an essential service on weekends.

As a successful applicant, you will work Monday to Friday 07:00 - 15:00 and one in three Sundays 08:45 - 16:45. An initial period of training will be required during routine daytime hours before commencing the evening shift hours once fully competent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working in the Biochemistry laboratory to provide an essential service for patients
  • Providing support to the laboratory team to maintain high standards
  • Assisting with training and development of new staff members

Requirements

  • NVQ 3 in Pathology or equivalent experience
  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent including English
  • Experience of working in a Pathology laboratory or reception
  • Awareness of Health and Safety issues and confidentiality
  • Evidence of written English skills and team working awareness
