Job Summary
Dr Mirza & Partners is seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our practice, including managing appointments, handling patient queries, and maintaining accurate medical records. They will also be expected to work effectively as part of a team, providing excellent customer service to patients and colleagues alike.
About Us
Dr Mirza & Partners is a GMS practice based in Bolton, with a team of GPs, Physician Associates, Nurses, and administrative staff. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality patient care and are committed to continuous improvement. Our practice is a regular high QOF achiever and has been rated overall Good by CQC.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage appointments, including checking patients in and out, and ensuring the efficient flow of patients into consulting rooms and treatment rooms.
- Handle patient queries and concerns, providing excellent customer service and ensuring that patients receive the necessary support and attention.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including updating patient information and ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed.
- Assist with the preparation of consulting rooms, including checking that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Operate the telephone system, including answering calls, taking messages, and diverting calls as necessary.
- Take messages and pass them on to the relevant person, ensuring that all communication is accurate and timely.
- Process repeat prescriptions, including preparing and sending letters to patients and ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Manage medical records, including retrieving and re-filing records, and ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Perform other administrative duties as required, including photocopying, scanning, and sending letters to patients.
Special Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
- Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use practice software and systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection principles.
