Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Visiting Examiner to join our team at Pearson. As a Visiting Examiner, you will be responsible for marking candidates' performance in GCE A Level French examinations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mark examination scripts and assess candidate performance in accordance with published marking criteria and procedures.
  • Visit centres to conduct and mark oral examinations, or be present at practical examinations where the activity of candidates has to be observed as part of the marking procedure.
  • Report any difficulties encountered during the assessment to Pearson.
  • Undertake an agreed allocation of local centres.
  • Submit written reports to the Chief Examiner and/or Team Leaders.

Requirements

  • Hold a degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Be a qualified teacher with experience in teaching French.
  • Have one academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years, within the relevant qualification and subject, and since qualifying as a teacher.
  • Have a high level of subject knowledge in order to apply the mark scheme.
  • Be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Be IT literate.
