Job Title: Ward Registered Nurse (FlexiBank)

We are seeking an experienced Ward Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team on a bank contract. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide high-quality patient care, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients during their visit or admission to our hospital.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre and post-operative care, assessing patient needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating care programs.
  • Identify patient care requirements by establishing a rapport, providing emotional and psychological support to patients and their families/carers.
  • Provide healthcare advice, educating patients/family/carers on conditions, medications, self-care, and health maintenance.
  • Carry out clinical nursing procedures, including administering medication, injections, intravenous infusions, and catheterization.
  • Record and maintain accurate patient medical records and histories on relevant care pathways, clinical forms, and IT systems.
  • Create customized care plans through collaboration with other departments.
  • Effective and safe discharge planning to various locations.
  • Participate in audit processes for monitoring nursing quality.
  • Assist with establishing and monitoring care pathways, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards.
  • Report incidents and complaints via the Sentinel reporting module and escalate appropriately.
  • Maintain and practice comprehensive handover of patients between shifts, departments, and multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with NMC
  • Clinical nursing experience in elective surgical care
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team
