Job Overview

Bord Na Mona seeks a highly skilled Renewable Energy Portfolio Manager to join our team in Edenderry. This permanent role reports to the Thermal Plant Manager and is responsible for managing the operations function of our Renewable Energy portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring environmental and health and safety compliance while maximizing plant performance. Key responsibilities include managing and maximizing the availability and efficiency of our generating assets, achieving Bord Na Mona's and government renewable targets.

  1. Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maximize the availability and efficiency of the Renewable Energy portfolio of generating assets, achieving Bord Na Mona's and government renewable targets;
  • Lead the operations of the power plant, aligning with Maintenance teams according to customer instructions, ensuring defined targets are achieved safely, economically, and within environmental limits;
  • Responsible for material management, purchasing, and contract management, meeting company standards and supporting operations within budget;
  • Liaise with Compliance and Trading functions to ensure financially beneficial positions for the assets while maintaining necessary compliance;
  • Implement the Renewable Energy Business Management System, coordinating interfaces with customers, partners, regulatory authorities, and accreditation bodies;
  • Proactively participate in operations management, leading engagement planning and implementing action plans with the team;
  • Lead and performance manage direct reports, participating in Performance Management processes to deliver personal and team objectives;
  • Demonstrated experience in Steam Boiler and Steam Turbine plant operations.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Experience in production management or a related field;
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies and industry best practices;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented;
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Salary: €80,000 - €100,000 per annum (dependent on experience) plus benefits.
