Join Our Team as an Anaesthetics Theatre Practitioner/ODP

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Anaesthetics Theatre Practitioner/ODP to join our team at The Royal Marsden. As a world leader in cancer care, we are committed to delivering high-quality patient care and innovative treatment options.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Anaesthetist to deliver general anaesthetic, sedation, and local anaesthetics/regional blocks to our Theatre patients and patients in outside areas. They will also work in conjunction with the rest of the theatre team to deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining theatre efficiency and managing resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Anaesthetist in delivering general anaesthetic, sedation, and local anaesthetics/regional blocks to patients.
  • Work in conjunction with the theatre team to deliver high-quality patient care and maintain theatre efficiency.
  • Support the senior staff and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards of clinical practice and staff development.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for junior staff members and support their continuing professional development.
Requirements
  • First-level registration with the NMC or HCPC.
  • Recognised post-registration Anaesthetic course if NMC registered.
  • Experience in Anaesthetics.
  • Mentorship/SSSA (Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment) Competencies.
