Teaching Assistant - Additional Needs Support

We are seeking dedicated and experienced teaching assistants to support children with additional needs in a dynamic and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to pupils with complex additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH.
  • Lead small group interventions and develop tailored support plans to meet the needs of each pupil.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of Special Educational Needs and strategies to support pupils effectively.
  • Engage pupils in their learning and support their social, emotional, and personal wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Experience working within a school or childcare setting, preferably supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and other support staff to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.
