Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Early Years team at Cross in Hand School. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with additional needs, ensuring they have access to the full curriculum and can integrate with their peers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support children with additional needs in a one-to-one setting, assessing and monitoring their progress, and providing feedback and encouragement to help them succeed.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans, ensuring children receive the support they need to reach their full potential.
  • Assist with classroom activities, supporting children with their learning and helping them to access the curriculum.
  • Accompany children on educational visits, providing support and supervision as needed.
  • Attend meetings with parents, other professionals, and lead members of staff to discuss children's progress and develop strategies to support their needs.
  • Contribute to the sharing of good practice, ensuring that all children have access to the full curriculum and can integrate with their peers.
Requirements:
  • Good communication and behavior management skills, with the ability to work well as part of a flexible team.
  • Experience of working within the Early Years sector, with a strong understanding of the needs of children with additional needs.
  • Enthusiasm, organization, patience, and compassion, with a commitment to providing high-quality support to children.
