Executive Chef

About the Role

Hartford Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional food services to our residents, ensuring a high level of quality and presentation in all meals and snacks.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of nutritious and appetizing meals and snacks for residents, taking into account dietary requirements and preferences.
• Ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to high standards of food hygiene and safety.
• Work collaboratively with the care team to understand resident needs and preferences, and to provide a personalized dining experience.
• Manage kitchen inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining a high level of stock control.
• Develop and implement new menu ideas, taking into account resident feedback and preferences.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they are equipped to provide excellent food services.
• Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.

Requirements

• A compassionate and caring nature, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional food services.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, with a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external suppliers.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
• A good understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements, with the ability to cater for residents with different dietary needs.
