About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at Alstom, a leading company in the mobility sector. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of our train systems, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of our trains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the Train System architecture, operational modes, and functionalities, taking into account external and internal requirements.
  • Perform train system FMECA in coordination with the RAMS team.
  • Ensure consistency and compatibility between all subsystem specifications.
  • Write subsystem specifications and architecture descriptions in collaboration with the SSE/PU/TCE.
  • Manage technical relationships with suppliers, including close management of QCD commitments, risks, and validation.
  • Support the TSE in defining applicable train configurations and ensuring coordination between TSS/PU/Metier on interfaces, performances, and technical issues resolution.
  • Participate in technical meetings with customers to provide support and define train verification strategies in close collaboration with all engineering metiers, certification, and validation teams.

About You

We value passion and attitude over experience. To succeed in this role, you will need:

A degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with a strong understanding of Electrical principles or other relevant discipline.Strong experience in system engineering and knowledge integration environments.Railway experience is preferable but not essential.Experience in requirement management tools like DOORS would be an advantage.Strong communication and customer orientation skills.Ability to communicate with internal stakeholders and suppliers on a regular basis and accurately record actions and decisions.Membership of relevant professional institutions (IMechE or IET) and a commitment to Continued Professional Development.A proficient level of written and spoken English is required.
