About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Factory Manager to join our team at International Procurement & Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the organisation and operation of the Production, Warehouse, and Ripening teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the highest quality and food safety standards are maintained throughout the factory, adhering to Company Health and Safety guidelines and industry regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
  • Lead and motivate a team of production staff, providing coaching and mentoring to drive business results and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the scheduling team to drive efficiency and control costs, while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance, working closely with the site leadership team.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care.
  • Develop and implement projects to deliver business growth and efficiency, working closely with the site director and direct reports.
  • Monitor budgets and suggest improvements to reduce costs through lean efficiency, resource planning, and other initiatives.
  • Ensure that operations leaders are compliant with internal SOPs, processes, and procedures through day-to-day interaction.
  • Drive the delivery of a culture that promotes effective, consistent, and efficient practices, leveraging best practices and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Lean Manufacturing qualification covering Six Sigma and 5S, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in an operational management role, with a strong emphasis on leading, motivating, and developing teams.
  • Experience in leading and coaching managers to drive forward results and step-change operational performance.
  • Good working knowledge of the tools and techniques of Continuous Improvement and how to integrate them into a business.
  • Able to develop a people-centred culture based on the continuous pursuit of best practice in manufacturing.
  • Ambition and true self-motivation, with a keen eye for quality and a strong knowledge of operating quality processes and systems.
