As a freelance interpreter, you will have the opportunity to work in different settings, including face-to-face, telephone, and video interpreting.

Language Empire, established in 2001, provides professional interpreting and translation services to the public and private sectors across the UK.

We are looking for individuals who are fluent in English and another language, with formal qualifications such as a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) or a Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages.

As a self-employed interpreter, you will have the flexibility to choose your own schedule and work from the comfort of your own home.

Our dedicated in-house team will provide ongoing support and help with continuous professional development.

Once your registration has been approved, you will be contacted for any job opportunities in your locality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services
  • Checking the non-English speakers understanding after each sentence
  • Conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
  • Dealing with highly confidential information
  • Liaising between the service user and service provider

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English and another language
  • All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
