Job Title: Graduate - Research Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Research Assistant or Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join our team at Loughborough University. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in circular economy, robotics, AI, and vision systems, and will work on an exciting project that aims to develop a whole system circular approach to the design, use, and end-of-life management of small medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop AI-based vision recognition for the segregation of medical waste
  • Lead work on developing a robotic cell to perform tasks from 'pick and place' to 'disassembly, refurbishment, and remanufacturing'
  • Collaborate closely with the project's team of researchers and an integrated academic and industrial project team
  • Develop new learning and disseminate project findings

Requirements:

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD degree or equivalent in mechanical, electronic, robotic control engineering, or any relevant discipline
  • Regular interaction and collaboration with the project team
