Job Title: Shift Plant Operator

Encyclis is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Plant Operator to join our team at the Rookery South Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) in Bedfordshire. As a Shift Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the facility in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, utilizing a Distributed Control System (DCS) to monitor and control operational processes and parameters.
  • Work closely with the Operations Shift Team Leader and maintenance teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of plant start-ups, shutdowns, and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and risk assessments to ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor and control waste feeding, combustion, steam systems, fans, pumps, and other plant equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in health and safety meetings and forums to promote and improve site H&S performance.
Requirements:
  • National Diploma or National Vocational Qualification Level 3 or 2 in a technical or science subject.
  • Relevant experience with large boiler, rotating plant, and modern DCS systems.
  • Three years (3) experience in a similar role, with a strong technical background in plant operations or maintenance.
