Job Description

Role Overview

Teach360 is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Mentor to join their support staffing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with young people who exhibit challenging behaviour or have Special Educational Needs (SEN) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and support students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and provide tailored support and mentoring
  • Work with identified students in small groups or one-to-one settings to address their specific needs
  • Develop and implement interventions based on individual student requirements
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other members of the Behavioural Team to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Effectively de-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm and proactive manner
  • Build strong relationships with students and establish a positive rapport
  • Plan and create resources to support student learning and development
  • Liaise with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SenCo)

Requirements

  • Approachable and empathetic approach to working with students
  • Resilience and ability to manage challenging situations
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
  • Proactive and able to think critically in high-pressure situations
  • DBS clearance or willingness to obtain
