Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Rogers McHugh Recruitment. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of groundworks projects, ensuring that all work is completed within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for groundworks projects, including new build McDonald's drive-thrus, residential, and industrial developments.
* Monitor project costs against budget, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or potential cost overruns.
* Source and manage suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating terms and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services.
* Prepare, review, and administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
* Conduct site visits to assess and value work completed, preparing and submitting interim and final valuations.
* Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management, highlighting key issues and recommendations.
* Identify potential risks related to cost and schedule, implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.
* Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in groundworks and civils projects.
* In-depth understanding of groundworks processes and best practices, including relevant regulations and standards.
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
* Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying and project management.
* Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field (e.g., RICS accreditation or equivalent) are preferred.
