Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our client's finance team on a fixed-term contract basis. This is a challenging role that requires a highly motivated individual with strong accounting skills and a keen interest in improving processes and procedures.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences:
- AAT Qualified
- A hands-on approach to detailed reconciliation work
- Experience with month-end duties
- Attention to detail and experience of working in a busy finance team
- Sage 200 knowledge beneficial but not essential
Salary: £30,000 per annum
About the Role
This is a fixed-term contract position lasting between 12 to 14 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks, including maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, processing purchase invoices, and managing supplier statements.
Key Responsibilities
- Fully maintain the Fixed Asset Register
- Prepayments & accruals management
- Month-end account reconciliations
- Check order confirmations
- Match and process purchase invoices
- Agree courier invoices to consignments and rate cards
- Journal postings
- Manage and resolve queried/disputed invoices
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Implementation and maintenance of financial controls
- Raise credit notes
- Nominal analysis
