About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Radio Network Engineer to join our team at Arqiva. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building radio networks that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with key stakeholders to define customer requirements and ensure solutions are designed and planned to meet or exceed expectations
  • Drive the design and build activity, engaging with internal and external contributors to ensure the solution meets customer requirements
  • Analyse engineering problems related to RAN equipment and systems or the causes of component failures and develop solutions to provide full resolution
  • Provide technical support to ensure that customer radio networks continue to meet agreed Service Level Agreements
  • Provide detailed, documented technical solutions and reports for distribution both internally and externally
  • Identify risks within the design and build through the design review process and take action to ensure appropriate mitigation/management
  • Develop and apply engineering standards and procedures and provide technical guidance to external and internal stakeholders
  • Translate customer concept designs into detailed design, build and test specifications that meet customers' requirements, within the constraints of the total costs of ownership and operability

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent in Engineering, or relevant experience relating to radio network design and operations
  • Track record of setting the standards for the design, development and testing of bespoke and COTS software/hardware for Telecommunication Networks, IP Networks, Smart Metering and IoT
  • Experience in setting the standards for processes and engineering practices related to area of expertise for platforms that support services
  • Extensive experience working with suppliers – both developing new services/capabilities and driving 3rd parties to resolve and fix functionality issues and errors
  • Experience in working in radio network design and optimisation including link budgets, radio propagation and protocols
  • Strong knowledge of technologies involved in Radio Networks, M2M Communications, Large data collection, processing and management
