Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team in Redbridge. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, across Redbridge.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAMHS, with experience in working with children and young people with complex mental health needs. They will be able to provide senior medical support and guidance to the team, work directly with young people and their families, and liaise with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals.

The successful candidate will also be able to participate in the on-call rota, with a frequency of 1:14, and receive a 3% on-call supplement. They will be expected to support their peers and team leader, and be an effective team member while allowing them to work with their own initiative.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing senior medical support and guidance to the team
  • Working directly with young people and their families
  • Liaising with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals
  • Participating in the on-call rota
  • Supporting peers and team leader

Key qualifications include:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • CCT or equivalent
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
