Job Overview

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled psychiatrist to join its flagship Acute Trust Psychological Medicine Centre. The successful candidate will work alongside a large team of psychiatrists and psychologists, integrated into medical teams across the Trust.

The role will involve working predominantly in maternity services, with scope to work in other areas of the service and in due course other specialties too. The appointee will be expected to provide holistic, biopsychosocial care for patients and support their colleagues to deliver high-quality care.

Main Duties of the Job

The main duties of the job will include working alongside a large team of psychiatrists and psychologists, providing holistic, biopsychosocial care for patients, and supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality care. The appointee will be expected to work in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient services, and to contribute to the development of the Trust's Psychological Medicine Centre.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a psychiatrist with a CCT in adult psychiatry or a dual CCT in adult and old age psychiatry, with experience of working in an acute hospital setting. An endorsement in liaison psychiatry is not essential, but the appointee will be expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team.
