Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Project Planner to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our project controls team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning function on a major construction project based in Derby.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are defined.
  • Help to provide clarity on key milestones to define what, when and how activities will be organised to ensure the outcomes can be achieved.
  • Lead on all aspects of project planning, including the development, updating and monitoring of plans and schedules.
  • Identify tasks, activities, interdependencies and outputs.
  • Work with the project team to track and monitor progress against the plan throughout the lifecycle.
  • Develop clear vision and standards and champion the use of best practice project planning standards, tools and processes.
  • Apply advanced knowledge in the discipline of planning for the analysis and successful resolution of risks and issues and identification of opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and specialist advice to the Project Manager on selection of planning approach, tools, processes and proportionality.
  • Identify and lead the introduction of industry standard best practices.

Requirements

  • Must hold valid UK SC clearance to work on nuclear/defence construction projects.
  • Must have demonstrable experience leading robust project controls teams on major construction projects within highly regulated industries.
  • An proficient level of understanding of Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Must be able to utilise techniques such as earned value management/analysis, critical path analysis, cost loading and risk management.
  • A degree in related engineering/project management field is desirable.
