Job Summary

Grand Union Housing Group is seeking a highly skilled Disrepair Surveyor to lead our efforts in tackling damp, condensation, and mould problems in our properties. As a key member of our Property Services team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of disrepair works, ensuring top-quality work, and making a real difference in people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Disrepair Works Management
    • Oversee all aspects of disrepair works from start to finish, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
    • Adhere to contracts, KPIs, and value for money in efficiency, economy, and effectiveness.
  • Defect Identification and Reporting
    • Identify defects, prepare detailed reports, schedules of repairs, and associated specifications and estimates.
    • Offer expert guidance on building defects, diagnosis, and remedial recommendations.
  • Survey and Reporting
    • Conduct thorough surveys, producing accurate reports, and recommending appropriate remedial work, especially for damp and disrepair issues.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, Grand Union's standing orders, and financial regulations.
  • Team Support and Development
    • Assist in the technical growth of colleagues within Property Services.
    • Embracing evolving duties as the role develops within Property Operations.

Requirements

  • Qualifications and Experience
    • A Degree in Building Surveying (or similar field)
    • A full UK driving license
  • Skills and Abilities

    • Advising, supporting, and mentoring colleagues

    • Experience with disrepair service in social housing
