Job Title: Mechanical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Thames Water. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our waste treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and diagnose mechanical plant equipment failures, and carry out repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance work on mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.
  • Provide technical advice and support to the wider team, and participate in training and development programs.
  • Maintain and repair technical equipment, including pumps, valves, and measurement systems.
Requirements:
  • Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical systems, and a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering, with an upskill qualification in mechanical NVQ2/3.
  • Experience working on large industrial plant equipment, including pumps, in the utilities industry.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ability to work on a 24/7 standby rota, and a full UK driving license.

  • Competitive salary up to £36,800 per annum, depending on experience.
  • 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with length of service.
