Head of Health and Safety Leadership Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Health and Safety Professional to lead our Health and Safety team at Hyde Group. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for promoting a strong Health and Safety culture across our division, ensuring the safety of all workers and supporting our business units in achieving compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Promotion of a Health and Safety culture within the workplace
  • Provide H&S management assistance and support for all HAP sites
  • Lead the HAP ISO45001 accreditation
  • Maintain existing and likely develop new controls at a divisional level
  • Support business unit management teams to ensure working practices are safe and comply with applicable HSE legislation/regulation, risk management
  • Assist in the development & implementation of Safety management systems, procedures and policies
  • Support the carrying out of regular audit, observation and risk assessment
  • Assist with the induction of new employees and toolbox talks

Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • A background / proven track record in H&S management in a manufacturing/engineering environment (ideally a minimum of 5 years)
  • Minimum of a NEBOSH Certificate or IOSH Level 3 in H&S Management or equivalent
  • Familiarity with relevant HSE legislation and regulations
  • Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management skills (ability to influence senior stakeholders)
  • Attention to detail
  • Pragmatic, but determined approach
