The Role

We are currently working with a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. Due to a strong pipeline of work within the water sector, they are seeking an experienced Urban Water Management Specialist to join their team in Newcastle.

As an Urban Water Management Specialist, you will contribute to innovative solutions that improve water quality and manage urban pollution on exciting projects with major water companies across the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead staff development through mentoring and guidance of junior colleagues.
  2. Ensure project delivery through effective planning, coordination, and technical governance.
  3. Develop and present reports to stakeholders.
  4. Prepare and conduct presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with industry partners.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  1. Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field.
  2. Membership in an industry-relevant institution, such as the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).
  3. Prior experience leading projects in an urban drainage environment.
  4. Technical expertise covering a range of urban drainage modelling activities.
  5. Strong communication skills, including report writing and public speaking.
  6. Staff development and project management abilities.
  7. Familiarity with digital solutions and smart applications.
  8. Able to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
  9. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
