XPO is a leading logistics company that offers a unique approach to logistics. We are looking for a skilled Weighbridge Operator to join our team.

Job Summary

The Weighbridge Operator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Weighbridge facility, acting as the first and last point of contact for all staff and contractors. The operator will also be responsible for ensuring that all legal and contractual obligations are met, including site inductions completed and weight checks carried out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weigh in and out all vehicles, recording both weighs and ensuring there are no variances that are outside the tolerance.
  • Comply with all legislative requirements, Company policies and procedures, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Ensure that all personnel entering site have been inducted using the rapid induct system.
  • Check that only authorized vehicles and people enter onto the site. Ensure that all vehicles that enter and exit site are logged.
  • Issue site rules to all drivers.
  • Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all shipments are despatched on SAP.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant Company rules, agreements, policies, procedures, and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice.
  • Ensure Company business is treated in the strictest confidence and not disclosed to persons outside the Company.
  • Act in a professional manner, ensure good working relationships are maintained, and promote a good image of the Company at all times.
  • Where appropriate, challenge and determine reasons for presence on site of any unauthorised person.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in a logistics environment preferred but not essential, full training will be given.
  • Health & Safety Awareness.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Can work effectively on own initiative.
  • Customer Focused.
  • Approachable.
