Process Engineer - Non-Crimp Fabric

Hexcel is a global leader in advanced composites technology, and we are currently seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join our team in Leicester, UK.

The selected individual will be responsible for the design and development of existing technologies and the introduction of new ones to the factory, ensuring compliance with safety requirements. Additionally, they will identify and implement process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and enhance product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and development of existing & introduction of new technology to the factory in line with safety requirements
  2. Identification and implementation of process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and improve product quality
  3. Project management & delivery (Initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, budget & closure)
  4. Supplier liaison (internal and external) to establish requirements and problem solving
  5. To prepare equipment, acceptance, and commissioning specifications for new and modified capital equipment and to validate performance prior to hand-over to Production
  6. Resource allocation to deliver project objectives (internal and external vendors)
  7. Cross functional & multi-site stakeholder management and communication
  8. Preparation and maintenance of plant standard operating instructions and training

Qualifications:

  1. Engineering degree
  2. 3-D CAD (SolidWorks), 2-D (AutoCAD)
  3. Process Engineering / Manufacturing experience
  4. Computer literacy. Proficient in the use of statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or equivalent
  5. Strong communication & reporting skills to all organisational levels
  6. Preferred - Experience delivering engineering projects
  7. Preferred - Experience of data driven problem solving
  8. Preferred - Process risk and hazard assessment tools (e.g. PFMEA, FMEA, HAZOP)
  9. Preferred - Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen etc)
