Medical Disability Assessor

We are seeking an experienced Nurse to join our team as a Medical Disability Assessor. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to utilize your skills and experience in assessing medical conditions and determining the permanence of disabilities.

This is a full-time position, working remotely from Portadown, County Armagh. You will be responsible for reviewing medical evidence, gathering relevant information, and compiling comprehensive reports to support the Victims' Payments Board (VPB) in its decision-making process.

• Meet face-to-face or virtually with applicants to review their medical evidence and determine the permanence of their condition.
• Play a proactive role in seeking further medical evidence from healthcare professionals or services to support the applicant's application.
• Gather relevant information from applicants and analyze clinical information to compile comprehensive reports.

• A minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience as a nurse.
• Fully registered without sanction or conditions of practice with the NMC.
• A demonstrable background in mental health or psychiatric speciality.
• Ability to work at pace, set boundaries, manage conversations, and keep to timescales.
• Report writing skills with the ability to deal with a high volume of work using a laptop and IT systems.

This role offers a competitive basic salary of £38,500 per annum, with the potential to increase up to £41,400 plus a bonus of up to 10%. You will also receive initial 6 weeks' training and ongoing support, flexible working patterns, and hybrid working arrangements.
