Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Charge Midwife to join our team at The Vale of Leven Community Maternity Unit. As a clinical leader, you will provide 24-hour continuing responsibility for the department and promote teamwork within a multi-professional environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Influence and facilitate change within the department and organisation.
  • Ensure a high standard of record keeping in accordance with Nursing & Midwifery Council, national legislation and local standards.
  • Act as a role model, creating a supportive ethos to empower staff to contribute to the delivery of high-quality person-centered care.
  • Provide clinical leadership to the midwifery team and promote clinical excellence.
  • Ensure a clean, comfortable, caring and safe environment for staff, women and visitors.
Requirements
  • Registered Midwife on the NMC Register.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience within a relevant area.
  • Expert clinical and professional practice developed through experience and theoretical knowledge.

We are reducing our full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff.
