About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished litigator to join our legal team. This position offers opportunities for a lawyer looking to gain experience as a middle manager while carrying a complex case and legal advice workload, or one already in this position looking to work in a forward-thinking local authority.

As a Senior Litigation Lawyer, you will lead on legal issues surrounding varied litigation and potential challenges arising from the Council's services. You will carry out advocacy in court, inquiry, and tribunal venues affecting the Council.

You will deal with ombudsman complaints, data protection, and freedom of information requests. Your expertise will be essential in providing advice and assistance on public law and service matters.

This role is based in Ashton-under-Lyne, approximately 10 minutes by train from central Manchester. The Council operates a flexible working policy.
