Mace, a purpose-driven organization, is seeking a skilled Retail Project Manager to lead the delivery of multiple fast-paced property investment programs for major retail clients. This role sits within our consultancy business, commercial sector, offering opportunities to broaden experience beyond retail in fit-out and relocation projects for corporate clients.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of several projects, ranging in value from £100k to £15m each. Reporting into the Mace account/programme lead, you will manage projects within a geographic area, ideally centered around your home location, with some UK-wide travel expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote Mace's value of safety first, exhibiting visible safety behaviors, sharing lessons learned, and utilizing the safety moments and Mace's HSW framework to support the safety and well-being of all Mace staff.
  • Ensure robust quality systems are in place, managed in line with service excellence.
  • Manage delivery from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement, and construction phase, in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
  • Develop and manage project plans for clients without construction processes or standards.
  • Strive for quality, safety, cost, and schedule improvements at every opportunity with all delivery partners, challenging and seeking to improve project deliverables.
  • Manage project budgets, highlighting risks, challenges, and mitigations.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in a similar project management role within the retail sector.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and commercial awareness.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of H&S & CDM standards and regulations.
  • Good commercial awareness and ability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and a good team player.
  • Proactive approach, capable of effective project planning and making decisions.
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office.
