We are currently recruiting for a College Porter to work at our college in Central Cambridge. As the first point of contact for the college, you will be responsible for providing an excellent impression to anyone who visits.
This is a full-time permanent role on a shift basis of 4 on 4 off, with two day shifts (7:30am-3:00pm) followed by two late shifts (3:00pm-10:30pm). You will be working independently but as part of a team, assisting students, staff, and visitors with their queries and dealing with incoming and outgoing post.
Typical Duties:
- Assisting students, staff, and visitors with any questions or queries they may have
- Dealing with enquiries via phone or email
- Being responsible for the security of rooms and buildings, issuing keys to users where required
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a similar front-of-house or security position
- Good customer service skills both written and verbal
- Able to work well in time-pressured situations
- Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Outlook & Excel)
