About the Role

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Digital Information Officer to lead the Digital Information Directorate in its mission to drive digital transformation throughout the organisation.

As a key member of the Executive Group, you will play a critical role in shaping the Service's vision and objectives for the future, developing strategies and business plans that support the CPS's vision, and ensuring that the Directorate continues to meet the future needs of the CPS and the wider Criminal Justice System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement an appropriate and forward-thinking operating model to meet the future strategic ambition of the CPS.
  • Define and establish a clear performance management process for the Digital Information Directorate, driving performance and culture, and reporting on this to Executive Group and/or Board as required.
  • Lead the Digital & Major Projects Group, providing strategic leadership and decision-making to guide the Group and provide feedback and assurance into Executive Group and CPS Board.
  • Champion digital innovation and act as a thought leader for the adoption of AI and other emerging technologies.
  • Ensure the integrity of personnel, physical assets, ICT systems, and data, enabling staff to work safely and securely while safeguarding the rights of data subjects.
Requirements
  • Experience of leading delivery within both 'waterfall' and 'Agile' project management environments.
  • A track record of delivering high-performing digital services in complex environments.
  • A strong appetite for creative and innovative solutions that align with the CPS's long-term strategy.
About the Digital Information Directorate

The Digital Information Directorate is a critical component of the CPS, responsible for driving digital transformation throughout the organisation. With an overall budget of approximately £85 million, the Directorate is a key player in the CPS's mission to keep the public safe.

This is a unique opportunity to shape and drive the organisation's digital transformation, playing a critical role in the future of the CPS at a pivotal time for the Criminal Justice System.
