Net Zero Transition Researcher in Agricultural Science

The James Hutton Institute is looking for a social scientist to contribute to the JUSTLANZ project, a collaborative effort to develop a just transition to net zero for the UK farming-food sector. The postholder will work closely with researchers across the natural and social sciences to lead analysis on the adaptive capacity of farmers and the food-farming system to net zero.
Key Responsibilities- Co-lead research on the adaptive capacity of farmers and the food-farming system to net zero, integrating qualitative and quantitative data.
- Lead the identification and systematisation of secondary data on UK farming-food systems at local, regional, and national levels.
- Work with the project's farming community and sector representatives to implement the above research in the Lough Erne case study.
- A completed PhD in a social sciences discipline with an environmental or agricultural focus.
- Experience of engaging with non-academic stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with non-academic audiences.
