Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Lead to join our team at Storm6, a specialist EdTech recruitment firm. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the technical design and execution of our innovative online education platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, testing, and production environments for our cloud-based platform.
  • Lead the design, development, and testing of front-end applications, back-end platform components, and APIs.
  • Conduct code reviews and approve critical technical deliverables to ensure design consistency and quality.
  • Manage technical issues and risks, driving them to successful resolution.
  • Provide leadership in Agile ceremonies and processes within the engineering and product teams.
  • Offer technical insight and support to the Leadership Team.
  • Ensure effective management and development of the engineering team, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Define and communicate technology roadmaps, securing company-wide alignment and commitment.
  • Continuously improve software development processes within the engineering team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear objectives for team members.
  • Take charge of hiring and nurturing the technical talent necessary to meet strategic goals within budget constraints.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in technical design and development of content-centric web applications across various technologies, such as Node.js, Java/J2EE, Python, and Ruby.
  • Expertise in establishing cloud-based environments for Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
  • Extensive experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) for rapid product development and release.
  • Proven experience leading teams of five or more developers through full development lifecycles, offering both team and thought leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex technical challenges and devise creative solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and micro-service architectures is a plus.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges and objectives of small companies, with the ability to align technical and commercial strategies within budget constraints.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate future developments and provide technical vision.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills to manage the dynamic nature of the role.
  • Experience in negotiating commercial contracts with third-party technology providers.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
